First Aid CPR and AED Blended Certification
Blended Class Length of Class: up to .5 hours Includes: Adult Child and Infant training Certification: American Heart Association Two Year Certification Course Meets:State, Federal and OSHA Requirements
The Blended American Heart Association (AHA) First Aid CPR and AED course is designed to teach students First Aid for victims of all ages, relief of choking and a variety of issue like bloody nose, cuts, heart attack, stroke, heat exhaustion, etc. Instruction is given on recognition of life threatening emergencies and basic First Aid CPR and AED techniques. It is available to anyone desiring, or required, to obtain the knowledge and skills taught at this level. Upon successful completion of skills demonstration, students will receive their Heartsaver® CPR and AED Adult Child and Infant training and course completion card which is valid for two years.
Part 1, American Heart Association online course
Students are emailed access to course work to be completed on the American Heart Association website. Students work at their own pace. Once the student has completed all course work, the student prints the course completion certificate to give to his instructor for Part 2. Part 1 should take about 2 hours to complete but students can work on small sections at a time and complete the course over several days if they choose.
Part 2, Hands-on skills practice session with an Authorized AHA Instructor
Students practice and show in person, good Compressions, Breathing Skills, and AED. These are all used in a rescue scenario where the student perform is knowledge of all three skills, Compressions, Breathing, and AED. There skills are performed for Adult, Child and Infant. Choking skills are then performed. Part 2 should take 30 minutes to an hour depending the type of class and the experience of the student. Course is complete after finishing both Part 1 and Part 2 of the course.
